| 38 WCF; very good bore, good stock, 20'' barrel, Manufactured in 1927. Original blued metal finish has worn to brown/gray with dark spotting, an old coat of varnish much of which has worn away was applied to the metal and wood long ago. Original fixed front sight, old replacement buckhorn style rear sight, marked across the end "PAT.FEB.22,27". Original walnut stock with dings and compressions. Oval proofs on top of barrel and frame. Upper tang markings "WINCHESTER/TRADE MARK/MADE IN U.S.A.". Barrel marked on left side below the rear sight "-MODEL 92-WINCHESTER-38 W.C.F.- / -TRADE MARK-" and on the right side below the rear sight with the Winchester address in two lines. Mechanically fine, very nice bore. C&R/FFL, s/n 9785xx |
