| 38-55 Win; 30% blue, very good bore, good stock, 26'' barrel, Takedown variaion manufactured in 1896. Original blue finish and walnut stock with crescent butt. Full octagon barrel with original fixed front and buckhorn rear sight. The right side of the stock is stamped "PS/LA PAZ/N 3884". The top of the barrel is stamped "-MANUFACTURED BY THE-/-WINCHESTER REPEATING ARMS CO. NEW HAVEN CONN. U.S.A.-". The caliber designation is stamped on top of the barrel in front of the frame. The upper tang is stamped "MODEL 1894/-WINCHESTER-/PAT. AUG. 21, 1894". Condition: The metal has traces of the original bright blue finish, with light surface spotting overall and a few small areas of light pitting on the frame. Both sides of the barrel have areas of finish loss with minor pitting. The wood is solid showing some light handling marks. Mechanically fine. The bore has shine and strong rifling, showing light frost in the grooves. Antique., s/n 626xx |
