| very good bore, good stock, 23'' barrel, Manufactured in 1892. Exact chambering is not known. Rebarreled in Sweden with a commercial Husqvarna 640 rifle barrel with ramped fixed front sight with hood, drift adjustable rear sight. The chamber is short for an 8x57 rimmed or rimless cartridge. The barrel has not been lined and retains the original bore. The chamber measures approximately 45mm. The exact chambering will need to be determined by a competent gunsmith. The frame has turned bright with some spotting. Original Winchester markings remain on the upper and lower tangs. Original walnut stock with crescent butt, a sling swivel added. The modification work appears to be well done, signs of some heating on the bottom of the frame at the forend with a screw added into the action. Wood has original finish showing age and handling. Mechanically the action functions fine. Antique, s/n 823xx |
