| Circa 19th century. 12.5 inch over all length, 7.25 inch blade etched on one side with slogans "A Californian, ask for nothing but what is Right, and submit to nothing that is Wrong". An eagle motif holding a bag of gold over "I can dig Gold from Quartz" and "CALIFORNIA BOWIE KNIFE". The etching is clear and legible. Marked on one side of the ricasso "WOODHEAD/HOWARD ST/SHEFFIELD" and on the other "V.R./WARRANTED/SHEFFIELD". One piece silver handle. Complete with the original silver mounted leather scabbard. Over all in very good condition., |
