Halbautomat B&T APC9 ProDie APC9 verfügt über alle modernen Eigenschaften, die man von einer SMG oder PCC erwarten würde. Diese Eigenschaften werden so sehr geschätzt, dass die APC9K von der US-Armee als Maschinenpistole der nächsten Generation, die sogenannte Subcompact Weapon, übernommen wurde. Einige dieser Merkmale sind die NATO Accessory Rail (NAR), die entlang der gesamten Oberseite des Gehäuses gefräst ist, 8 verschiedene Schaftkonfigurationen, ein beidhändig bedienbarer, nicht mitlaufender, klappbarer Ladegriff, verschiedene Lauflängen und sogar eine Version mit integriertem Schalldämpfer. Das Unterteil kann auch mit Magazinen ausgetauscht werden, die mit den Pistolen Glock, SIG 320, Walther P99 und HK SFP9 austauschbar sind. Diese geniale Funktion spart dem Benutzer Kosten und Gewicht. Es macht die Waffe interoperabel.
