Text only available in German: Nach dem zweiten Weltkrieg hat die NATO entschieden, weitere Garand M1 durch die Firma Beretta Italien herstellen zu lassen. Dazu verschifften die USA die Herstellungsmaschinen von Winchester nach Italien, wo nun Gewehre und Bestandteile produziert wurden. Teile wurden ebenfalls durch die Firma Breda Italien hergestellt.   Beretta hat einen Teil der Produktion an Dänemark verkauft (ca. 20'000 Stück), wo bereits 2. Weltkrieg Surplus US Garand M1 im Einsatz standen (die USA hat diese nach dem Krieg kostenlos an Dänemark abgetreten, es wird von ca. 69'808 Stück gesprochen).   Teile von Beretta waren mit "PB" markiert, Teile von Breda mit "BMB". Die so hergestellten Gewehre wiesen eine höhere Qualität als die in den USA produzierten US Garand M1 auf.   Die bereits in Dänemark eingesetzten originalen US Garand M1 wurden mit Ersatzeilen aus Beretta und Breda Produktion ergänzt und repariert.   Dänemark setzte US M1 Bajonette (Bajonett M1 Dänemark) für seine Garand-Gewehre ein.
